Tattoos on Pigs Posted on 20 September 2010
http://www.dumage.com/tattoos-on-pigs/?utm_source=avalanchers.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=avalanchers

Belgian artist Wim Delvoye had the original creative idea, a bit shocking, because he is a tattoo applied to pigs. he began his project in the U.S. at 1992nd, but it continued in China. Delvoye make tattoo on live pigs and pig skin. His drawings are fantastic, and the topics are diverse, from the flowers and the rich ornaments, to the Bible and drawing scary skeletons and skulls. Nice is the fact that Delvoye pigs used exclusively for the work of art, not for food, because he is a vegetarian.

5 Ugly Truths Americans Will Have to Face
(Read WP posts from John Hawkins) (Read MT posts from John Hawkins) rss

"Before I draw nearer to that stone to which you point, answer me one question. Are these the shadows of the things that Will be, or are they shadows of the things that May be only?" Still the Ghost pointed downward to the grave by which it stood. "Men's courses will foreshadow certain ends, to which, if persevered in, they must lead. But if the courses be departed from, the ends will change. Say it is thus with what you show me!" The Spirit was immovable as ever. -- Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol

Even the United States of America is not immune to the rules of nature and commerce that govern other nations. Over the last few decades, our country has made some very foolish economic choices. It seems as if we have come to believe that the rest of the world is going to finance our government spending in perpetuity, even as it becomes clear that we have no intention of getting spending under control or paying back our debt. Because the wheels of history turn very slowly, we've gotten away with this for a long time, but as the baby boomers are starting to hit retirement age, the time to pay the piper is drawing nigh. In the next decade or two, we're likely to face a financial crisis more dire than any this nation has ever seen.

What is that going to mean in real terms? It means that barring an unforeseen miracle, our out-of-control spending is going to lead to some very painful decisions that will make a lot of people, including conservatives, very unhappy. What you're about to read are the ugly truths about what our behavior today means for our country's future.

    1) Entitlements must be cut. By 2030, the Congressional Budget Office is estimating that Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid will make up 75% of our budget spending. In other words, unless we get a handle on entitlement spending,
it will be impossible to get our deficits under control. That means the age eligibility for these programs must be raised and the amount spent per person will need to be dropped to try to close the gap between what we take in and what we pay out. Given how explosive this issue is politically, it's not going to be easy to accomplish. However, it's not realistic
to believe that future generations of Americans are going to be willing to live like indentured servants for decades to support their own personal senior citizen who's lying around in a hammock somewhere, enjoying a 25 year long retirement. The sooner we start making changes, the easier it will be on everyone and the less shock there will be to the system when the inevitable changes start to take place.

    2) Our military is going to weaken. By historical standards, the United States is not spending an extraordinary percentage of our budget on defense. However, we are spending an extraordinary amount of money on defense for a nation that's flat broke. Is this sustainable? Is China going to keep loaning us the money we need to keep our military going when it's the only thing standing between them and Taiwan? Are Americans going to keep spending billions to defend foreign countries that are ungrateful for our help when we don't have enough money at home? The answer to that question is, "No, we're not." That's a shame -- because the United States military is doing more to promote world stability than any other 20 nations combined, but we simply can't afford to keep it up. We'll be forced to cross our fingers, cut back on military spending, and hope that the world doesn't completely fall to pieces when the sheriff hangs up his guns.

    3) Taxes are going up. Ronald Reagan was right when he said that, "The problem is not that people are taxed too little; the problem is that government spends too much." Unfortunately, we've allowed our government to spend so far beyond its means for so long that it's going to be almost impossible to close the gap by merely cutting spending. Taxes must go up on the rich, the middle-class, and, yes, even the poor. The whole idea that more than 40% of the population can avoid paying any income taxes at all when we're running trillion dollar deficits is sheer madness. Everybody is going to end up having to pay more -- and sickeningly, it won't even be for more services; it'll simply be to pay for what we've already spent.

    4) Economic growth is going to stagnate. The bigger the government grows and the more it borrows, the less virile the economy becomes. We've seen this in Western Europe where policies -- of the sort the Obama Administration is now pursuing -- have led to the kind of perpetual sluggish growth and jobless rates we associate with economic downturns in this country. As the Congressional Budget Office has said:

Large budget deficits would reduce national saving, leading to more borrowing from abroad and less domestic investment, which in turn would depress economic growth in the United States. Over time, accumulating debt would cause substantial harm to the economy.

Less growth means less jobs, less prosperity, and handing future generations of Americans a country that doesn't
hold as much promise as the one that we grew up in.

    5) We will have a world where the United States isn't a super power. As the growth of the US economy slows, our military declines, and we become ever more dependent on the foreign powers that hold our debt, the United States
will cease to become a super power. We won't have the cashflow to engage in another Marshall Plan, the manufacturing capacity to gear up as we did in World War II, or the dominant military needed to score decisive victories over our opponents. Certainly, the United States won't become completely insignificant, but Reagan's description of
our nation as a "shining city" above the rest of humanity will no longer be true. Instead of being a colossus striding
the globe -- we'll be like Russia, China, France, Britain, or Germany -- just one of many.

Are these events that "will be" or "may be?" If we depart from the course our nation is on, will "the ends" change
for our nation or are we too far gone down the road to serfdom? Sadly, we've run so aggressively towards a socialist oblivion that our country may be on the backside of the mountain and unable to climb back to the top. Time will tell,
but after all the privileges we've had growing up as Americans in this great nation, we have a solemn duty to bear whatever we must as a country to pass on the promise, the potential, and the dream of America to future generations

Jesus Wasn’ t a Carpenter : “He’d more likely be called an engineer”.

And he was not a blond with blue eyes do you care?
    http://www.misconceptionjunction.com/index.php/2010/07/jesus-wasnt-a-carpenter/?
Jesus wasn’t really a carpenter, at least not as we understand the profession. Now obviously, eventually Jesus’s chosen profession was of a “Rabbi” or teacher; so in that sense he wasn’t a carpenter regardless of translation. However, in his early years, it is supposed from Mark 6:2-3 that he was, like his step-father, a “carpenter” as commonly translated.

However, the chosen translation from the Greek word “tecton” to mean “carpenter” is a bit of a mistranslation.
In fact, “tecton” (in Mark) or “tekton” (in Mathew) is more aptly translated into a word describing a “contractor”; specifically, contracting as a “builder” or “handyman”. Not necessarily having anything to do with wood in most of the jobs he likely took.

He was basically a “Mr. Fix it”. You had something that needed mended/fixed, designed, or built and he was the guy to call. And note, this isn’t just referring to small jobs such as repairing a leaky roof or the like, though this type of thing would have likely been a part of what he did when bigger business was slow; it also refers to such things as designing and building bridges, stone temples, etc. So perhaps by today’s notion of the profession, he’d more likely be called an “engineer”.

    CHURCH POSITION
“Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not his mother called Mary?” (Matthew 13:55)

    SCHOLARS
"the text of the Gospels say only tekton, which can be read in the broad sense as "builder of houses..." (Craveri, 1967, p. 6)"It [the word tekton] certainly did not identify Jesus and Joseph as woodworkers. More precisely it defined them as men with skills - learned men, who were masters of what they did." (Gardner, 2001, p. 27)

"It [tekton] can refer to a worker in wood, or in stone. I agree that this likely means Jesus and his family used both sorts of materials to build houses, since stones were the normal main material used to construct a house in Galilee. (Witherington, 2006, http://benwitherington.blogspot.com)

"In the Gospels...a tekton [is] a Greek word that meant not merely a carpenter skilled in making cabinets or furniture but a designer, construction engineer, or architect. A tekton could build a house, construct a bridge, or design a temple." (Starbird, 2003, p. 53)

    THE REALITY
The common conception of Joseph is that he was a carpenter (Matthew 13:55), however, this is a mis-translation of
the Greek word, tecton (tekton), which more accurately should be called “general contractor”, or more provocatively, “Master of the Craft” (Gardner, 2001). In fact, the Protoevangelium of James, [1] which concerns the lives of Jesus’ parents, specifically identifies Joseph as a general contractor.  The Blueletter Bible offers various translations of tekton -  (1) a worker in wood, a carpenter, joiner, builder, (2) any craftsman, or workman (e.g.,  the art of poetry, maker of songs), and (3)  a planner, contriver, plotter, or (4) an author.
When one looks at the parables which Jesus told, they were often about constructing a building, rather than making
an object. This indicates that his experiences along these lines were more architectural (ie., builder) rather than artisan (maker).

Even more challenging is the concept that tecton/tekton is best translated as scholar, since the original Aramaic word is naggar, which translates as craftsman or scholar (Wilson, 1992, p. 893). Indeed several notable authors (e.g., Thiering, 1992; Wilson, 1992; Vermes,1973)  believe that Joseph is best understood as a scholar, and it’s as the son of a scholar that Jesus is more readily understood, rather than the son of a carpenter. Certainly this image of the scholar is more consistent with Luke’s (2:46-47) tale of the 12-year old Jesus in the Temple, where “…all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.”
    Updated 7/28/2007
[1] Origen (c 185-254 AD), head of the Christian seminary at Caesarea and later at Alexandria, believed that the Protovangelium Jacobi was a true account, on a par with the Gospels.

    Misunderstanding Mehrabian

    Mehrabian%20pie
All over the internet are references to Albert Mehrabian’s most famous “discovery”, the so-called 7%-38%-55% rule.

Supposedly only 7% of communication springs from what is said, the verbal, 38% from the tone of voice, and 55% from the non-verbal – facial and body language.

But this is to miss the point completely. In situations where words, tones and non-verbals are consistent with each other, it’s clearly the words that carry the message.

It’s where there are mixed messages, where words, tones and non-verbals are incongruent, seeming to contradict each other, that non-verbals are most likely to be believed.

So for example if I say to you that I trust you, but my facial and/or body language suggest otherwise, it will be lack of trust that is the received message.

Making sure that all channels are aligned is not so easy – it trips up politicians all the time – and while we may not be conscious of what has happened when they are not, our unconscious registers the real messages loud and clear.

So often, when I facilitate innovation meetings, the lead client puts on the table one task, where the rest of the group has a completely different issue in mind. The complexity of reading bodies, faces, tones and words in situations like this can be daunting. And without a great deal of experience, young facilitators (and old) can come unstuck.

The question is: how to become skilled at reading all these signals and responding appropriately?

    Lady Gaga: Innovation Princess 2010

    0129 lady gaga
My now eight year-old daughter was given “POP Princesses 2010” – CD and DVD – for her recent birthday. It’s been a massive hit with her and consequently I’ve had a good deal of exposure to it myself.

Many of the current diva crop are included – Rihanna, Leona Lewis, Sugababes, Britney Spears, Shakira, The Pussycat Dolls, Cheryl Cole, Girls Aloud and so on.

What has struck me most clearly, however, is what a unique performer Lady Gaga is. While most of them could easily be mistaken for each other, their sound world being so similar, Lady Gaga creates something quite different.

Thinking about this from an innovation perspective, if you want to be reasonably successful with your offering, you swim with the tide. But if you want to cause a breakthrough you take the greater risk of creating something that either may catch on, as Lady Gaga has, or may equally sink without trace.

Of course, Lady Gaga has not only made a different sound, she has given birth to a complete artistic creation, and it may well be other parts of the artwork that have caused the wave to mount up.

Will she remain a one-off? Time will tell.

    The Last Laugh

    gershwins

    From Shall We Dance, 1937

    Words: Ira Gershwin
    Music George Gershwin

The odds were a hundred to one against me
The world thought the heights were too high to climb
But people from Missouri never incensed me
    Oh, I wasn't a bit concerned
For from hist’ry I had learned
How many, many times the worm had turned

They all laughed at Christopher Columbus
When he said the world was round
They all laughed when Edison recorded sound
They all laughed at Wilbur and his brother
When they said that man could fly

    They told Marconi
    Wireless was a phony
    It’s the same old cry
They laughed at me wanting you
Said I was reaching for the moon
    But oh, you came through
Now they'll have to change their tune

They all said we never could be happy
They laughed at us and how!
    But ho, ho, ho!
Who’s got the last laugh now?

They all laughed at Rockefeller center
Now they're fighting to get in
They all laughed at Whitney and his cotton gin
They all laughed at Fulton and his steamboat
    Hershey and his chocolate bar

    Ford and his Lizzie
    Kept the laughers busy
    That's how people are
They laughed at me wanting you
Said it would be, "hello, goodbye."
    But oh, you came through
    Now they're eating humble pie

They all said we’d never get together
    Darling, let’s take a bow
    For ho, ho, ho!
    Who’s got the last laugh?
    He, hee, hee!
    Let’s at the past laugh
    Ha, ha, ha!
Who’s got the last laugh now?

Does any other song have so many important messages for innovators?

    gun suppressor
    http://www.misconceptionjunction.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/gun-silencer.jpg

“Silencers”, also known as “suppressors”, on guns don’t make them anywhere near silent.  Silencers primarily only suppress the noise due to the pressure wave from the rapidly expanding propellant gases.  This is only a portion of what makes a gunshot loud.  The primary other source of noise in a gunshot is the sonic crack created by the bullet (for bullets that exceed the sound barrier, which is a large majority, unless they are modified to specifically be subsonic).

Other typically minor noise makers from the gunshot are the mechanical action; the sound of the bullet striking the target; and the flight noise of the bullet itself, which typically is only audible if the bullet comes relatively close to the person hearing it (depends on the caliber of bullet for how close that needs to be).  The mechanical action can be quite loud on some types of fire arms, such as a Sterling Submachine Gun, which produces over 115 dB from the firing mechanism alone.  The sound of the bullet striking the target can range from mostly in-audible to every bit as loud as the original gunshot.

How Much Sound Do Gun Silencers Actually Suppress

Modern day silencers typically can reduce the noise about 14.3-43 decibels, depending on a variety of factors, such as whether it’s a subsonic bullet or not; length of the barrel/silencer;  etc.  The average suppression level, according to independent tests done on a variety of commercially available suppressors, is around 30 dB, which is around the same reduction level of typical ear protection gear often used when firing guns.

That’s actually pretty significant considering the decibel system is a logarithmic scale; so, for example, 200 dB is 1000 times louder than 100 dB, not double, and a reduction of 40 dB is more like 1/100th of the original sound.  However,
for most commercially available fire arms and cartridges, this ends up only reducing the noise level to somewhere in
the range of 130-150-ish dB for a supersonic cartridge and 117-130-ish dB for a subsonic cartridge.  For reference on just how loud that is, an ambulance or police siren is typically between 100-140 dB.  So this isn’t exactly the “whoosh” sound Hollywood depicts.  Given that hearing loss can occur as low as 85 dB, it’s typically recommended that even with a silencer on a fire arm, that the shooter still wears some sort of hearing protection.

    Why Use a Gun Silencer

So if they don’t make them anywhere near silent, why do people use them?  It turns out, there are a lot of advantages to silencers, particularly for military usage, including:

A typical reduction in recoil of around 30%, which increases accuracy and reduces firing fatigue on the person shooting.
Drastically reduced flash, which can be a huge advantage for military personal, particularly in night operations or for snipers.  By getting rid of most of the flash, firing won’t reveal your position from a visual standpoint.  This can also be
a critical feature if firing around explosive gases, particularly if, before firing each round, you put a piece of tape over the silencer opening to help prevent the gasses from entering the barrel of the gun.
Silencers help significantly in masking the position of snipers, not just because of getting rid of the flash, but also for audible reasons.  Snipers can effectively mask their position by positioning themselves such that the bullet will pass by large hard objects, which will reflect the “crack” sound from the supersonic bullet much more effectively than the “bang” sound from a non-suppressed shot.  This will make it impossible for an observer to tell which direction the shot came from, because it will sound like it’s coming from every direction in a perfectly chosen environment.  Wolves actually use
a similar technique in modulating their howls to make it sound like there is a huge pack of wolves surrounding something, instead of just one or two.
Suppressors change the perceived sound of a gunshot enough that most people wouldn’t recognize it as such, particularly in a city environment where there are numerous ambient noises.
Firing an unsuppressed gun in a small closed area, such as a bedroom or the like, can permanently damage hearing due to the noise being reflected back at the shooter at close range; this can also disorient the person firing the weapon.  Using a silencer significantly reduces this risk.
    How Gun Silencers Work

Gun suppressors work primarily by slowing the release of the propellant gases, resulting from firing a bullet, and converting some of the noise energy to heat.  The latter method is achieved by trying to trap or direct the sound through specially designed chambers or baffles; the sound is then ultimately converted to heat in these chambers.
The former method is achieved by expansion of the cavity the air is being rushed through, typically by just making
the chamber diameter bigger than the barrel’s diameter and by creating turbulence as the air rushes through the suppressor.

Some of the most advanced suppressors will also try to get rid of some of the sonic crack by either shifting the phase of the sound, to get it out of human range, or reflecting it back onto itself, to try to cancel it out (frequency shifting and phase cancellation).  However, neither of these methods are terribly effective, to date.  The phase cancellation is particularly difficult because of dealing with a wide range of sound waves, rather than pure tones.  Silencer manufactures claim to have effective phase cancellation, but, to date, this isn’t backed up by any real independent scientific evidence and seems to be more just a marketing tool.

    Bonus Factoids:

Although snipers can use a silencer and large solid objects to help reflect the sonic crack to mask their location, the U.S. currently has a “Boomerang” system, which deploys a series of microphones around a potential sniper target area.

This system can almost instantly locate the origin of any gunshot within the system’s sensor range.

The first silencer was invented by Hiram Maxim, in 1910.  Maxim supposedly got the idea for a gun silencer after
flushing a toilet and watching the water spin away.

He then thought he could create a similar effect except swirling sound, which he theorized would reduce the sound
of a gun blast. Car mufflers were designed around the same time as gun suppressors and both use many of the
    same techniques for reducing noise.
Gun “Silencers” Don’t Make Them Anywhere Near Silent

Inside Mike Tyson’s Abandoned Mansion Back in the 1990s, the legendary boxer lived in this house like a king …
    a zebra-print-carpet-loving, cash-hemorrhaging, mentally ill king.

    By Ky Henderson
Hey, look— an unbelievably garish mansion formerly owned by Mike Tyson that
now appears to be the homebase for armies of raging meth addicts. Good ol’ Las Vegas!
Actually, it’s not in Las Vegas. This monument to insanity and bad taste is
located in Southington, Ohio. Tyson lived there for a period of time in the 1990s —
further evidence of the depths of his madness.

Speaking of madness, check out this gold ceiling. “You know what I’d like? For my
living room to make me feel as though I’m in a disco. In 1985. In Tel Aviv.”
Who knows what he kept in this rusty steel cage. His Bengal tigers? His pet pigeons?
    His sparring partners?

    top-10-things-you-didnt-know-about-your-eyes.php

Few people could argue that without our 5 senses life would be pretty dull. All our senses are extremely important but I think if you asked most people which sense would they least like to lose they would probably say their vision. As with most of our abilities, our vision is something that many of us take for granted. If you stop and think for a moment, you will realize that just about everything we do in our day to day life involves our vision. During this article I am going to try and see if I can get you to start thinking a little bit more about your eyes. Listed below is my top 10 list of weird and wonderful things you didn’t know about your eyes

    10.  Everyone needs reading glasses as they get older
This is assuming that you already have perfect distance vision. If you are currently reading this article and are under 40 years of age with perfect distance vision, I can say with absolute certainty that you will need reading glasses at some point in the future. For about 99% of the population the age that you will first start needing reading glasses is between 43 and 50 years old. This is because the lens in your eye slowly loses its focusing ability with age. In order to focus things near to you, your lens has to change from a flat to a more spherical shape and it loses the ability to do this as you get older. As you get to around 45 years old you will start to hold things further away from you to keep them focus.

    9.  The lens in your eye is quicker than any camera lens
Just behind the pupil sits the eyes natural lens, whose function is to focus on the object you are looking at. Just take a minute to glance around the room and think about how many different distances you are focusing at. Every time you do this, the lens in your eye is instantly changing focus without you even being aware of it! Compare that with a camera lens which takes a few seconds to focus between one distance and another. Just be thankful that the lens in your eye is as quick as it is, otherwise things would be continually going in and out of focus.

    8.  Your eyes are fully developed by the age of 7 years old
By the age of 7 years old our eyes are fully developed and are physiologically the same as adult’s eyes. It is for this reason that it is vitally important to pick up a lazy eye before we reach this age. The earlier a lazy eye is diagnosed, the greater the chance it will respond to treatment, as the eyes are still developing and capable of an improvement in vision. Beyond 7 years old no amount of treatment will result in any improvement in vision.

    7. You blink approximately 15,000 times each day
Blinking is a semi- involuntary function meaning we do it automatically, but can also choose to blink if we so require. Blinking is an extremely important function of your eyes as it helps remove any debris on the surface of your eye, by spreading fresh tears over them. These tears help to nourish your eyes with oxygen and also have important anti bacterial properties. You can think of the function of blinking as being similar to the action of the windscreen wipers on your car, cleaning and removing everything to keep you seeing clearly.

    6.   Everyone gets cataracts as they get older
People don’t realize that cataracts are just a normal consequence of getting older and everyone gets them at some point in their life. You can think of cataracts as being similar to getting grey hair, in that it is just a normal natural age change. The average age people first get cataracts is about aged 70 years old and by 80 years old you are guaranteed to have cataracts. In the same way that you could not find any aged 80 years old without grey hair, it would be equally impossible to find anyone over 80 years old without cataracts. Cataracts refer to a gradual clouding of the lens in your eye and typically take about ten years from onset to them needing treatment.

    5.  Diabetes is often first detected during an eye test
People who suffer from type 2 diabetes (the type you develop later in life) are often symptom free, meaning they often don’t even know that they have it. This type of diabetes is commonly picked up during an eye test as it can be seen as tiny hemorrhages from leaking blood vessels at the back of your eye. This certainly is good reason to get your eyes tested regularly.

    4.  You see with your brain and not your eyes
The function of your eyes is to collect all the required information about the object you are looking at. This information is then passed from your eye to the brain via the optic nerve. It is the brain (visual cortex) where all this information is analyzed to enable you to ‘see’ the object in its finished form. This is not to say that your eyes don’t play an important role as they certainly do.

    3. Your eyes can adapt to blind spots in your vision
Certain eye conditions such as Glaucoma and certain general health conditions such as having a stroke, can lead to you developing blind spots in your vision. This would be extremely debilitating if it wasn’t for your brain and your eyes ability to adapt to make these blind spots disappear. It does this by suppressing the blind spot in your affected eye and letting your other good eye ‘fill in the gaps’. It is adaptation like this that makes your eyes so resilient.

    2.  20:20 vision is not the best vision you can have
When people hear the phrase 20:20 vision they assume that this is the best vision possible. However this is not true as 20:20 vision refers to what the average adult should be able to see. If you imagine a typical eye test chart the 20:20 vision is probably only the line second from the bottom. The line below it is even smaller than 20:20 vision and would mean you have 20:16 vision. So don’t be so impressed next time someone tells you they have 20:20 vision!

    1. Your eyes water when they are dry
I know this might sound crazy but this is one of strange facts about your eyes. Your tears are made up of 3 different components and they are water, mucus and fat. If these 3 components are not in exactly the right quantities, your eyes can become dry as a consequence. Your brain responds to this dryness by producing extra water and hence your eyes water.

Dr Vivian Davies claims that a recently discovered set of hieroglyphs proves that, in
800 BC, Egypt was under the rule of black Pharaohs from neighbouring Nubia. This
film examines the impact of these sensational discoveries.

Historians have long known about Kush, but relegated its importance to a vassal state of Egypt, significant only for its gold reserves. Early excavations in the Kush capital at Kerma suffered from the innate racism of the archaeologists. Fabulous grave goods, discovered in the 20th century, were thought to have belonged to Kush’s Egyptian overlords. They didn’t consider that a black African culture could have challenged Egypt’s supremacy.

The inscription exposed the truth. Although it won battles, Kush eventually lost the war, and for the next 1000 years, Egypt had the upper hand. But the inscription served as a warning prophecy to Egypt that it might pay a high price. The enslaved Kushites would have their revenge. Allowed, and even encouraged, to rebuild their own kingdom along the lines of Egypt, in 747 BC, Kush attacked the Pharaoh’s power in a daring land grab.
The Kushite king, Piye, overthrew the yoke, conquered mighty Egypt and established a 100-year rule of black Pharaohs. Even after being ousted from the Egyptian throne, Kushite kings continued to rule an empire as mighty as any, until the arrival of Alexander the Great. For a number of years, British Museum archaeologists have
been making find after find in the Upper Nile Valley to substantiate this story - huge
lost pyramids, burial chambers of 200 workers, and stores of gold.

    His sparring partners?

this on paper sounded like a nice idea,
Have you ever tried to imagine world without celebrities? Some of you maybe did but
for most of us it?s something like a new ?Mission Impossible?, like imaging sky
without clouds, without stars. Someone will probably say:?Hey, wait a second? I can
imagine sky without clouds and stars!? Ok than, go back to the first question. Than I
tried to find something else I can?t live without. Chocolate!!! I?m going very well
without Jennifer Aniston or Brad Pitt, but without chocolate, for me, 2012 will came
much earlier. Actually, both of them are going well one without another too. So, I
tried to put these two things together and find out what am I going to get in
    exchange.

Palestrina and The Popes. Episode 2.
Four-part documentary series in which actor and former chorister Simon Russell Beale explores the flowering of Western sacred music. He uncovers the links between the papal intrigues of Renaissance Rome and the music of the enigmatic Palestrina, whose work is considered by many to be unsurpassed in its spiritual perfection. The art and architecture of the Italian High Renaissance is accompanied by a performance from the award-winning choir The Sixteen, conducted by founder Harry Christophers.

Fans of rapper 50 Cent were shocked to see photos of him gaunt-faced, posted on his website.

According to 50 Cent, he lost a lot of weight in preparation for a movie that he wrote and is part of called “Things Fall Apart.” He lost 6 inches from the waist and a total of 54 pounds, from 214 to 160. He underwent a nine-week weight loss training that included a liquid diet only and three-hour daily walks on a treadmill.

Tony Yayo, a source close to the artist, said, “50 doesn’t party, he doesn’t drink. For his new film, the guy was, like, 130 pounds. He was running from the airport to the hotel. And I was like, ‘Man, he has the three D’s: desire, determination and direction.’”

But fans don’t have to worry anymore because 50 Cent has “been eating” again in anticipation of his next tour. He said,
“I’ll be back in shape in no time!”

Top 10 Most Pirated Movies of 2010, Avatar Number One

Report Movie Piracy Reporting.BSA.org Anti-Piracy Organization GivesRewards For Confidential Reporting

Out of all the year-end movie lists to come out this week, this is by far the most controversial. Over at TorrentFreak, they’ve named the Top 10 Most Pirated Movies of 2010 and we have to say the number one pick was slightly surprising. Avatar topped the list while the number two spot was taken by a comic book film that really could have used the extra bump at the box office. Check out the complete list below…

Here are the titles, download amounts, and worldwide grosses:

    1. Avatar 16,580,00o $2,779,551,867

    2. Kick-Ass 11,400,000 $96,130,432

    3. Inception 9,720,000 $825,408,570

    4. Shutter Island 9,490,000 $294,803,014

    5. Iron Man 2 8,810,000 $621,751,988

    6. Clash of the Titans 8,040,000 $493,214,993

    7. Green Zone 7,730,000 $94,875,650

    8. Sherlock Holmes 7,160,000 $523,029,864

    9. The Hurt Locker 6,850,000 $48,612,915

    10. Salt 6,700,000 $175,190,850

Avatar is the highest grossing film of all time, so the pirating didn’t affect it one bit,
but why would you want to download the movie? Avatar is one of those films that really is
an experience and needs to be seen in 3D on a big screen. We’re hoping those people who
downloaded it at least saw it in theaters first before watching it on their computers.

Kick-Ass really suffered from the pirating. The movie was great but it wasn’t a huge box
office success not even cracking the $100 million mark worldwide.

We’re also really surprised that Green Zone made the list. Who knew so many people wanted
to see Matt Damon play Jason Bourne in the MiddleEast?

What do you think of the top 10 list? Are you surprised?

On a Christmas visit to The Chestnuts in 1897 Carroll caught influenza, and,
in spite of devoted nursing, died on January 14 1898, a fortnight before his
    sixty-sixth birthday.

He was buried in the cemetery on The Mount, just inside the gates, where
his grave and the memorial cross erected by his brothers and sisters can
be seen. His aunt, Lucy Lutwidge, and several of his sisters are buried in
    the same cemetery.

Woking contains books, manuscripts and personal papers from his family.

Jesus Wasn’t a Carpenter : he’d more likely be called an “engineer”.
